Bruny Island accommodation — a directory without listings

Bruny beds are finite. Peak summer and long weekends fill. This is not a live inventory; historical names are unverified.

Stay on Bruny if the ferry is part of the joy. Stay in Hobart if the ferry is a day tool. That is the directory. Everything else is a finite set of cottages, shacks and small rooms that we will not pretend to inventory.

The heritage path promised a directory. Later years may have scraped whatever they found. This rebuild labels any leftover business name as a historical listing, details unverified. We publish no phone sheet.

Where people sleep, as geography

  • Adventure Bay — closer to Fluted Cape and the Cook-landing story. See Adventure Bay.
  • Alonnah and the channel side — quieter water, civic services. See Alonnah.
  • South-end stays — longer road, darker nights, closer to the national park and lighthouse precinct.

Parks campgrounds, when they exist and are open, have their own official rules. A parks pass is not a tent booking.

Season

Winter Bruny has more vacancy and less light. High summer has the reverse. Accommodation on the main island is the overflow valve: sleep in Hobart, day-trip the ferry.

What we will not do

Live vacancy. Rates. A map of every shack. If you operate a room and a public fact on a place page is wrong, write with a source. We will not add a booking button.

Write with a region and a number of days. We can point you to the right guide — we cannot hold a cabin or a parks pass.
